The new southwest community of Hudson in Creekstone makes the most of its spectacular setting – perched on a ridge overlooking the Pine Creek coulee with the Rocky Mountains in the distance.

Dennis Inglis, development manager with Highfield Land Management, says the community’s location alongside a protected reserve means its scenic surroundings are here to stay, unlike some new communities where development eventually encroaches on natural lands.

“What you see in Hudson when you look over the top of the escarpment today is what you’re going to see in the future,” said Inglis. “I think it’s stunning.”

Located just south of 210th Avenue S.W., Hudson in Creekstone will have more than 50 per cent of its land base preserved as environmental reserve.

Since there are abundant shopping opportunities and essential services available in other nearby communities, Inglis says it was decided Hudson in Creekstone would remain a residential community where nature comes first.

“We didn’t think that we would want to put a commercial amenity in this kind of atmosphere, with the valleys and the view sheds that we have here,” he said.

Instead, Highfield focused on choosing builders who could provide a mix of homes for many different buyers.

Broadview Homes is offering semi-estate homes priced from the mid-$600,000s on the premier ridge lots overlooking Pine Creek.

Stepper Homes has single-family models priced from the $450,000s, with one- or two-car garages, and paired homes with single attached or detached garage starting in the $360,000s.

StreetSide Developments is also building two-storey townhomes with two-car detached garages. “We really have entry level right up to the semi-estate product,” said Inglis.

He says two showhomes are already open and construction is underway on homes in phase one, with the first residents set to move in this spring.

At completion, the community will have about four phases.

In addition to its beautiful setting and proximity to plenty of amenities, Hudson in Creekstone will also benefit from the eventual completion of Stoney Trail’s southwest leg.

More information about the community is available at LiveInHudson.ca.

“What you see on the website is what you see on the ground when you get here,” said Inglis.
