Here is a summary of the Calgary Real Estate Board statistics for December 2008.
Sales of single family homes dropped by 47% from a year ago and 33% from November. Similarly Condominium sales in Calgary were 48% lower than a year ago and 27% lower than November. 
2008 overall was a reasonable year for Real Estate n Calgary, a higher than normal number of listings saw the opportunities switching over to the buyer. There are still great opportunites available to the buyer, but how long that lasts remains to be seen.
